NTPS Students and Mental Health

NTPS has a mental health specialist assigned to each of our schools. These professionals are either school social workers or school counselors who have specialized training in the mental health field.

NTHS Mental Health Specialist: Mandy Garrison mgarrison@nthurston.k12.wa.us 

  • provide preventive education on mental health
  • facilitate small therapeutic groups
  • working one on one with students in need of short-term mental health support
  • connect students and families to community resources
  • respond to mental health crises that may arise in school

Crisis Clinic of Thurston/Mason County

Thurston/Mason County Crisis Clinic hotline is a resource for those seeking social/emotional and mental health-related services. This is a non-emergency number where you will speak with a trained person who can provide additional resources and be a supportive listener. In cases of emergency, calling 911 is the best resource.
