Exam Price

• $99 per exam (if registered before November 12, 2024)
• $99 + $40 late free (if registered between November 12, 2024–March 12, 2025)

We will start accepting payments on Monday, September 30, 2024, through the NTPS online payment portal.

Important Dates & Information

• Registration & Payment Deadline: Tuesday, November 12, 2024, by 11:59 pm.
• Late Registration & Payment: November 12, 2024–March 12, 2025.
• No payments or registration accepted after March 12, 2025.
• Students who qualify for free lunch do not have to pay the exam fee but are still required to register through CollegeBoard. 
• All students who register after November 12th will be responsible for the $40 late fee, including those who qualify for free lunch.
• Students who register for an exam and quality for free lunch (therefore had their exam fee covered) but do not show up to take the exam will be responsible for an unused exam fee of $40. This fee will be added as a fine on their student account.

2. Pay the exam fee through the Payment Portal

Both steps must be completed to be eligible to take the exam.

Cancellation Policy

• Cancellations before November 12, 2024, will receive a full refund.
• Cancellations between November 13, 2024–March 12, 2025, will result in either a $40 cancellation fee or no refund.
• To cancel, please contact Ms. Grantham.

NTPS Payment Portal

The Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) is one measure of students’ progress toward college and career readiness in English language arts/literacy and math. These assessments are given to 10th grade students in the spring and consist of two parts: a computer adaptive test and a performance task.

Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBAs) were created by the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium and are aligned to the Common Core State Standards in math and English language arts (ELA).

How to view results in Skyward

The Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) measures the level of proficiency that Washington students have achieved. All students are assessed on their knowledge of the science standards through the WCAS in grades 5, 8, and 11.

One of the best preparations for the SAT is the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).  The PSAT is a multiple-choice standardized test administered by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation. It is given once a year in October at high schools nationwide. Top scoring juniors may qualify for National Merit Scholarship consideration and is a practice test for the SAT.

The 2024 PSAT is October 28, 2024

The exam will be administered after school hours. Students must provide their own transportation.

This test is designed for students who are interested in attending a four-year college. Juniors can take the test for free and can sign up in the College and Career Center. Sophomores are $18 and can pay through the payment portal.

Taking a practice test is a great way to simulate test day.

Test results for the SAT/ACT are not required for many Washington State colleges and universities. For information regarding out-of-state college admissions requirements, please visit the college's website.

We do not administer the SAT or ACT at NTHS.

North Thurston High School offers ASVAB several times during the school year. You can also speak with a recruiter about testing.
